The Muasher Center for Fertility and IVF located in Fairfax, VA offers diagnosis and treatment of all conditions causing infertility in the male and female, including endometriosis. These treatments range from medications, ovulation induction IUI, and surgery including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, to advanced reproductive technologies (ART) such as IVF. Our fertility clinic ART services include IVF, IVF with donor egg, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted hatching, cryopreservation of sperm and embryos, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) (Coming soon).
Our first objective is to identify the cause(s) of infertility in both partners prior to beginning any therapy. Many of our patients respond to "first level" treatments such as medication or medication combined with intrauterine insemination while others require advanced reproductive technologies such as IVF. Dr. Muasher always recommends the therapy most likely to result in pregnancy while considering other factors such as cost and personal circumstances.
The fertility clinic services provided in our Fairfax, Virginia office greatly increases patient convenience. Our accredited fertility clinic (by AAAASF) includes a state of the art operating suite and recovery area where we perform egg retrievals for IVF and other surgical procedures. When anesthesia is required, we utilize the services of Board Certified anesthesiologists. We also host full service Embryology and andrology Laboratories certified by the College of American Pathologists as well as CLIA.
Suheil J. Muasher, MD FACOG, is the Medical Director of the Muasher Center for Fertility and In Vitro Fertilization and is an Associate Professor of OB/GYN at John Hopkins University Medical School and Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at George Washington University Medical School and a Professor of OB/GYN at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a leading fertility clinician and researcher responsible for numerous scientific breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. His original work led to the development of the drug protocols used today for ovulation induction and in vitro fertilization.
Dr. Muasher brings the unique experience of having served as Director of the In Vitro Fertilization Program (1988 - 2000) and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (1998 -2000) at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, VA. Dr. Muasher's desire to help infertile couples in a unique setting where "one-on-one" individualized patient care is a top priority led to the foundation of the Muasher Center for Fertility and IVF.
We realize the importance of frequent personal communication between the physician and patient. These interactions ensure that all questions are answered and that treatment options are understood thus reducing patient stress. Dr. Muasher personally sees his patients at every office visit and performs routine fertility testing procedures such as ultrasound scanning. He strongly believes that patient interactions with him and the entire staff are critical to achieving good treatment outcomes.
We work closely with couples to help them cope with the physical, financial, and emotional stresses faced by fertility patients. Our fertility clinic has designed many programs to help them including a "Shared Risk IVF Program", discounts for repeat IVF cycles, and most recently we introduced the "Minimal IVF Stimulation Protocol" which can dramatically reduce drug costs in appropriate couples. Couples qualifying for the Shared Risk Program receive a refund if they do not become pregnant after a specified number of IVF cycles. Our financial and insurance counselor is available to help determine insurance benefits and plan treatment costs.
